Scheduling Time Tips (how to set time for the right way)

1. You have to schedule work, and when schedule your work; it demands high concentration, such as reading and taking notes on a text in 50 minutes period.

2. You need schedule 30-minute sessions for memorizing facts, figures, and dates.

3. You have to allow your time to be available to do research in the library.

4. After doing research in the library, you have to schedule your time at least 50 minutes to get you through compiling your notes and writing an outline for a short paper that is at least (three to six pages only);

5. When you have a break from class, you take a study on it.

Reading Time Tips

1. While you are reading, please read for both ideas and details.

2. It makes sure that you understand how the text is organized;

3. At the same time, you looks for main ideas and main concepts;

1. Then you need to do the survey the entire text for special interest;

2. You have to take note how the main ideas are organized;

3. You have to look for the statements with transition words or phrases including such as, for example, for instance, therefore, and so on.

4. You have to underline key ideas as you read and take notes as you read.

5. Use the 4 R methods. This translates as:

Note taking Time Tips (how to take note effectively)

1. During your listening to someone, you have to take down as much as possible using your own brand of shorthand if necessary.

2. At the end of each lecture, you have to summarize the major points that covered the lecture or lessons.

3. For the important/key points, you have to underline or put the asterisk (star) to highlight them.

4. During the study, at least you try to get down at least 20 percent of what is said in the lecture.

5. When you hear or find the facts, write them down immediately.

6. If importantly, don’t forget to use tapes, but only run a tape recorder in class as a back-up system.

7. Keep one loose-leaf notebook for all your notes;

8. After that compress your notes by using your own words;

9. Always put the proper date on the lecture notes;

10. Try using 3 x 5 or 4 x 6 index cards.
